According to Robert Harris (via HTF), in early 2007 on Blu-ray Disc we will see:
"1962 Mutiny on the Bounty, a 65mm anamorphic production, as well as Forbidden Planet (CinemaScope)." Jeff |

Whoa Mutiny On The Bounty UltraPanavision Blu-ray!
2.75-wide goodness! Hopefully they'll transfer it at the correct ratio and with the full correct Projector Aperture area just like the did with the recent Ben-Hur UltraPanavision DVD remastering. Wonder about Forbidden Planet tho, the HD transfer making the rounds on TV is at 2.40 (and doesn't look Technicolory) but since FP was a magnetic Cinemascope release shoudn't the negative be 2.55. (I've seen a transfer that has a little more image on the left (where the optical sound track would supposedly be covering image) than the 2.40 HD. And even in that wider one, some shots still seem to look a little unbalanced towards the right) Quote:

![]() Well at least the clarity of the image lets you see the ceiling lights almost as if you turned around and were staring at them. Beyond High Definition: 3D space warped in half! ;D |
