Firmware for Samsung B-DP1000

Hello,
I bought a Blu -Ray B-DP1000 DVD Player REGION A in Hong-kong in August this year.The player has been doing a great job with all the movies which i import from the US..Until i tried the latest Blu -Ray DVD of Fantastic 4..It was too beautiful to be true..The player needed firmware upgrade to play the disc.So the upgrade from the Hong kong Samsung Web site and followed the instructions word for word.The process was successful until i tried to test the result.The Fantastic four can now be played with the only problem that i must set the player to 720p...when set to 1080i to match with my VIERRA Panasonic Plasma screen i am getting black lines on all letters with a slight flickering..i:e the FBI warning notice...the audience notice before the movie starts...when the movie is on i have one horizontal black line on top and bottom of the image just like 3mm away from the black bars when on 16:9 aspect ratio.It looks like a resolution kind of problem!
Being a region A Player,can i install the firmware available on the blu-ray .com web site which i belive is for US/CANADA players

Yes, but it will change your DVD region to 1.
