Default Suggest home theater speakers

I've been looking at buying a onkyo receiver and I was wondering what kind of
speakers I should get for it. Also what is a good wireless speaker device for the
back speakers? thank you

Firstly, wireless speakers are a bad idea for Blu-ray. Too much possibility for losing audio information "in transit". What kind of budget you have? For approx $2000 CDN, you can get some pretty good and compact Bowers and Wilkins speakers. I just picked up the MT-20 set (5 satellite speakers and subwoofer) to go with my Onkyo 805 about 3 weeks ago. Check them out.

Thanks Petra, speakers look interesting kind of disappointed about the wireless
speakers losing sound though. But if having to hide wires is the only way to have the best sound then I live with it.

Ya, the nice thing about the speaker I pointed out is that they come with both the small shelf stands and the wall mount units. So, I decided to use the wall mount units! Now they are up on the wall constantly smiling back at me.

If you decide to purchase them and mount them though, be sure to consult someone first. I had a ***** of a time when I first tried taking the shelf stand off. It got pretty ugly.

People generally seem to suggest what they have, so I'll do the same. Paradigm makes really nice speakers.

And you don't necessarily have to hide your wires.

I think the 12 gauge clear coat Monster cable, for example, looks great left out. Just make sure you run it straight and coil any excess length out of view (such as behind/below your receiver) and don't make a tangled mess behind your receiver. It's untidy wiring that looks bad rather than the wires themselves.

You can also paint the wire to match your walls or run them behind the trim or under the carpet.

Flat speaker wire is available too. It seems you are past the speaker wire issue but I thought I'd throw that in. Best thing to do IMO is to get normal good speaker wire and push it down between the trim and your carpet in that little groove that is between them. it can be nearly invisible and there is no comprimise.

Consider the Pioneer Elite VSX-90/91XV along with the Onkyos.
They will compete price wise with the comparable Onkyos and IMO are better receivers.
