Default Wal-Mart Promoting Blu-ray On TV

My wife and I were watching Desperate Housewives last night and noticed a unique commercial. It was a Wal-Mart commercial promoting Spider-Man 3 on Blu-ray. The commercial mentioned nothing else and it primarily promoted the Blu-ray version vs. the DVD version. The commercial stated the positives of the HD Picture Quality and HD Sound and ended with these words: "Spider-Man 3 available now on Blu-ray. Also available on DVD." It was nice to see Wal-Mart taking a proactive stance for Blu-ray, especially in Prime Time.

Unfortunately they devote very little shelf space to blu-ray titles, for now anyway.

DH has been on for several months now (Sept./Oct.), but "Lost" won't return until next year... if then...

Seen it 30-40 times now, but I was disappointed to see a "Transformers" HD DVD commercial from them today at work. First time I've seen it...

Wal-Mart ran another blu-ray commercial a couple weeks ago for a while; the one where the son is pestering his parents to get blu-ray for a christmas present by placing hints everywhere around the house.

Sort of silly, but had the blu-ray logo and name plastered all over it, and the commercial was 100% focused on that one product (Spiderman 3 again, I believe).

I've seen more BD wal-mart ads on TV than I've seen HD-DVD ones.

Thanks for the info guys. I honestly have yet to see a Wal-Mart commercial for either format.

You missed the HD-DUD one when they were getting ready for the $99 firesale? Dude... you missed out. That one was hilarious. The happy housewife bragging about getting the HD-DUD player at a great price... how happy her husband was going to be on CHristmas Day when he got it? Oh, priceless. I imagine these characters being driven back to Walmart by the husband on Christmas Day so they can be first in line to return it.

I have not seen any of the movie releated ones myself. But sounds like they are getting behind Blu.
