What are peoples least favorite upgrades from their DVD in terms of, lossy audio, bad video, missing cuts etc. Mine would be the first Mission Impossible movie which is a very miniscule upgrade at all from the dvd in my eyes

Honestly? The Moontrap Blu-Ray is worse than the VHS. And I'm not exaggerating about that.

I think the Hard Boiled (John Woo's film) Blu-Ray would have to be on the list. Which is surprising since it's considered one of the best of its' kind.

The first Bluray of Ran before it was restored - there was so much noise it was like a snowstorm - the German upscale of Burt Reynolds' Stick and the disgracefully bad UK and French Blus of The Quiller Memorandum, complete with another snowstorm of digital noise and in some night shots wildly fluctuating pulsing shifts from light to dark. All are worse than the DVDs.

They're not upgrades for me, but rather BD blind buys, but the Ocean's Trilogy discs look very poor.
Total hyperbole. Yes, the AR was incorrect. But it was opened up, not cropped. And the PQ was fine, certainly better than DVD. |

The Shout "Select" series blu ray release of "A Shock To The System". It has to be seen to be believed in terms of how bad it is. The VHS tape of the film that I used to have has a superior transfer to that of Shout's blu ray.

The Last Starfighter - DVD has more grain due to BD DNR and original audio, BD also has a mixing error
Near Dark - BD has DNR and motion artifacts The Sword in the Stone - BD DNR makes film look like watercolor painting. |

The reviews for "The Osterman Weekend" blu were so bad that I have never bothered to upgrade from the DVD.
