Thought for a moment that Criterion might get this one, given that the film has been prominently featured on the Criterion Channel and that neither Minnelli nor Garland have officially entered the Collection yet. Nevertheless, I’m so excited that this is coming to disc!

What they mean is that Judy Garland and Vincent Minnelli have yet to be part of the Criterion Collection. Some of their films have appeared on Criterion's streaming service, but nothing disc wise.

I knew holding out for this (for what felt like years) would do me good from the WAC. I personally think this is one of Judy's most underrated films and its great to finally see it get the restoration it deserves.

This is coming on TCM on Tuesday, May 3rd at 12/1 PM CT if anyone wants to catch it on there before the blu-ray release in June. I wonder if TCM is going to have Judy be the star of the month in June since it'll be her 100th birthday.

I love this film!!!

For anyone who's on the fence, it's basically a forerunner to Before Sunrise - following two lovers around a city for a day as they talk and explore the town and get to know each other. It's slightly more plotty than the Before movies, but it's a really bold, unconventional film for the 1940s.

Cannot WAIT to have this on BD.

TCM will probably have an all day tribute to her on her birthday (June 10) like what they did for Doris Day's 100th birthday earlier this month.

She is the star of the month in June, looked up the schedule every Friday until Saturday morning they put a compilation of her films in June

This really is one of Judy's best films and a rare dramatic (aka non-musical) role for her. She was such a talented singer and dancer, that I think it somewhat overshadowed her acting abilities. She's was a very talented actress in her own right and she doesn't get enough recognition for that.

Idk, I think her dramatic work is the reason that her performance in A Star is Born is so beloved, even though it’s a musical.
