Not a great film, but worth seeing for Jennifer Jason Leigh's debut performance and some vintage Tom Savini gore.

This film has many great sequences. It’s tonally all over the place, vacillating between mystery and gory slasher, but I find it extremely watchable. Enough to own it on 3 formats!

Let's hope that it will be the unrated version that could be found on the old Warner DVD.

I really hope Shout! are able to secure an interview with actor John DiSanti. Would love to hear his impressions on the film.
Would also love to hear his thoughts on KING *@#!! FRAT (the outrageous film he did just prior with practically the same mob). I'd love for them to go deep into it and perhaps sneak it onto the disc as an easter egg. Hell, they could just sit on it for a while. I wouldn't care. Just seize that opportunity while they can because I get the feeling KING *@#!! FRAT won't be getting an official release any time soon and DiSanti is in his 80s, now. I know the director wasn't a fan of the film but I don't see how he could possibly discuss the genesis of EYES OF A STRANGER without talking about KING *@#!! FRAT. I look forward to him having to acknowledge a movie he directed that he's previously referred to as a "terrible piece of junk". |

I buckled and picked this up on DVD a few years back, hoping that it would push Warner Archive to release the BD. But hey, I'm excited by the surprise from Scream Factory!
Such a great little slasher/thriller, with Lauren Tewes (pretty hot, minus the Love Boat stupidity), and the great Jennifer Jason Leigh in an early role. This one's got far more suspense & depth than you usually find in its genre. Incidentally (and this may already be known), EOAS was also released on DVD as part of a Warner 4-pack that includes Someone's Watching Me and The Hand, now Scream BD releases. This may bode well for Deadly Friend, the fourth film in that pack, to also be coming from Scream, instead of WAC, where many have been watching for it. |

Big thanks to Scream for using that awesome poster for the cover. The DVD cover is so ugly. |

I noticed something of concern. The back of the DVD has a running time of 90 minutes while Scream's listing of the Blu-ray on their preorder page shows a running time of 85 minutes. That has to be wrong, right?
