Thumbs up I Did My Duty Today

I decided to go out to my local Future Shops, here in Belleville, Ontario today. While there, I decided to buy myself a Blu Ray for myself, because my Christmas shopping was finished. While there, I decided to go back and look at all of the overpriced LCD's and Plasma's. While browsing around, I saw a couple debating what they wanted to buy for a T.V. and it's components. I walked up and said, stay away from HD DVD. After they had spoken to the saleman, they decided to quiz me on why? I gave them the bigger disk space, better audio tracks, reliability of machines, choice of many different standalone Blu Ray makers, better Studio support. I explained to them about HDMI 1.3, then finished them off with going with Starchoice, over Bell Expressvu for their television feeds. They went all Sony and ignored the Toshiba garbage.

On my way out, after purchasing my copy of The Omega Man, I saw another customer walking out with a DUD player. I turned to him and said, "you'll be sorry!" He asked why? I told him that by the second week of January, HD DVD might be on the way out in the format war, with the possiblity of Warner dropping HD DVD and going Blu exclusively. I could see that I had planted the seeds of doubt in his mind, so hopefully, he'll bring it back after an agonizing night. No one wants to buy something that will be obsolete in a couple of months.

A good day, all in all. Sony and Blu gained a new customer, HD DVD may have lost a customer and I added one more Blu Ray movie to my collection and the Nielson ratings for this week. Carry on Lee Stewart, over at HigDefforums, since you read all of my posts here, to keep me banned over there. Just to make your day, I was reinstated earlier today. I'll be coming for you.......just like the grim reaper, you ol' bastard!!!
