the "thing" on the cover looks like your Avatar. I have no idea what a chromeskull is, but I am sure it is something you would like.

The original had some of the best gore effects I've seen (since the director is a special effects technician this was a must). I enjoyed it, though many thought the amnesic girl ruined the movie.
Hope part 2 is better since the director would have the experience of his first film out of the way.

Todd, his av is from the 1979 Italian horror Zombi 2. After Dark Films/Lionsgate owns the first film but the second film is being released by Image Entertainment. There is a Blu-ray for the first film in Germany, but supposedly it's cut by 15 seconds.

Little known horror movies are usually more misses than hits so I didn't expect much. It was actually a pretty decent horror movie. I am definitely looking forward to part 2.

I enjoyed the first movie and watched it more than once when I rented it. I wish they would release the first movie @ the same time on Blu-ray.

Chad, as I stated in a previous post, Lionsgate / After Dark Films has the first film. Only a few of the After Dark Films have made it to Blu-ray. I doubt it'll be coming anytime soon in the US. However, there is a German and Austrian Blu-ray. The German Blu-ray is cut by like 15 seconds. I am not sure if it's Region B locked or not, Grooves Inc.com has it for $10 on their site.

There's a limited steelbook that's uncut of the first one but its extremely limited and pretty pricey. I've not seen it. Will have to invest before I get 2.

I thought the first Laid to Rest was entertaining enough. I'll give this a rental when Netflix has it.

I was going to post earlier wondering if I could give Laid to Rest 2 a go without seeing the first one. Seeing as the only Uncut version of the first film is a very expensive mediabook from Austria, or so I thought. I've just found this,

http://www.amazon.de/Laid-Rest-Unrat...6018021&sr=1-4

released by Dragon the same Austrian company that released the mediabook. Seeing as there was a bit of discussion about the lack of availability of a uncut edition readily available. Now I just need to get a copy to the UK at a reasonable price. Either way its better than the £40 plus it would cost to get the mediabook.

I have Laid to Rest on DVD, and it was pretty good, so I might bite on this sequel when I can find it for about ten bucks.

I liked the first one and own it, so i'm gonna be getting this one.

I heard the deaths in this one are even more sick and creative.

I recently saw the second one and it wasnt bad but I just didnt like it as much but maybe I need to see it more than once. Dont read spoiler if you want to know about Chromeskulls return.
[Show spoiler]The kills were good but I honestly dont remember them being above and beyond the first movie but they were good. I still dont buy it that Chromeskull survived the damaged inflicted on him at the end of the first. He is put into the ambulance and makes a recovery in a few months. He is really messed up and missing an eye but still alive and well. I dunno, it just didnt stand well with me at first viewing.

The part when the girl gets stabbed in the temple and her skin yanks when the knife is pulled out is still stuck in my head..

The First Laid to Rest was a real surprise I liked it much more than I thought I would. I wish this would get a USA release on blu. I will be picking up the second one next week plus its got Danielle Harris in it so I must have it big fan of hers. I will keep my expectations low so I wont be disappointed.
