Reviews seem a tiny bit mixed, but I'll check it out regardless, I enjoyed Baumbach's Frances Ha.

Well, I've liked Baumbach's previous work, especially Frances Ha (and Mistress America, also starring Greta Gerwig, got very good reviews out of Sundance). This looks good, though ...

... I have a feeling it's going to be one of those movies that even if I enjoy, I won't enjoy, because it hits pretty close to home.

I'll check it out for the cast alone. It looks like it will be fun at the very least.

I liked Frances Ha as well. Just not quite as much as some.

I've enjoyed every Baumbach film I've seen so far (The Squid and the Whale, Greenberg, Frances Ha) and hopefully this one will be no different.

Added a poll since this had an "expanded" release this weekend.

Will end up checking this out, even though I haven't liked any Baumbach movies I've seen. Kicking and Screaming, The Squid and the Whale, and Greenberg didn't do anything for me.

Yeah I'm going to check it out at the Film Institute nearby, but Baumbach is hit or miss for me. Squid and the Whale is ok, Greenberg is a bit tedious especially Stiller's character, but I really like Frances Ha so I hope I like this one as well. This actually looks like it has more humor in it, and Naomi Watts and Stiller seem like they'd be a good duo. I'm in my thirties but I still think this movie may make me feel old though

Films like this (i.e. films by Baumbach, Whit Stillman, Nicole Holofcener, Todd Solondz, etc) make me wish movies did the theatrical/DVD same day release thing... The film is done, and I have to wait like 2 years before I can get it on blu because it drags through this super slow film festival run ("we can't release it now, in nine months there's going to be one screening in Spain!") and then microscopic theatrical run ("just sit tithgt another year, guys, we think a theater outside of LA might want it for a weekday afternoon filler")... By the time you can get your hands on it, nobody cares about it and the filmmaker doesn't even remember what it was about.

This film's been done for ages, Baumbach's already completed and screened his subsequent film and is working on his next one. And there's still no sign of a DVD/blu release date for it yet.

I know what you mean. It's not like they're going to be doing $850M worldwide gross on this thing, anyways.

This shows up in my Netflix DVD queue as available on June 30th. Hopefully that's accurate so I don't have to wait too long to see it.

Where did you see that? I was going to see this as a 2x feature this week along with It Follows.

If it is coming on Netflix on the 30th of June, I may have to find another 2x feature deal.

On the movie's Netflix page. Usually those dates are pretty accurate, but it's strange to see one posted so early.

Great film 4/5.

Ben Stiller and Naomi Watts were stellar.

Adam Driver, I found him to be intolerable and I just wanted him to get hit by one of the NYC cabs he so liked to dodge. Though I guess that's the point of his character. Amanda Seyfried was nice in her role but she really played second fiddle to everyone else.

Solid film but bullshit ending. Children will not unilaterally make your life better or more complete, I am sick and tired of this message being said by movies.
