Default What decades do you cherish and avoid?

I try to listen to a wide variety of music, but I typically won't touch the 1980s with a ten-foot-pole. A friend of mine with an extensive music collection told me once that he's never met anybody who completely ignores a decade as I do. Probably the only band from that decade to which I listen with any regularity is the Talking Heads.

I'm not terribly fond of the 1990s, either, but I can make do. I used to be into the music of the 1970s the most, but lately I'm finding it too commercialized and too produced compared to the raw talent and jamming of the 1960s. I've also tended toward blues and jazz as of late. As for the 2000s, I think there's more creativity and innovation flourishing now (with the whole indie/electronic renaissance) than there has been for several decades.

Are you a decade-person or perhaps more of a genre-person?
