Default Warner Exclusive BD Titles Predictions

Half of us will beleive it when we see. The other half can feel it in the wind as if true today that Warner will make a BD exclusive announcement in the first quarter of 08. I subscribe to the latter. Warner already has their business plan in place waiting to launch.

Comments will abound of waiting for the blu ink to dry. We have heard them all before. I'm Beyond that now. The future has arrived early. Just waiting for reality to catch up. So with that said...
(Does anyone else see Rod Serling standing in the wings or is it just me?)

I was wondering what your predictions are for up and coming title anouncments from Warner might be with it's new exclusive BD format and will Warner come up to speed on Lossless audio?

If Warner goes Blu exclusive, then I think it stands to reason that they will produce discs with lossless audio. That is the sole reason that I hold off on Warner titles, like Superman. If patience is a virtue, then my ears will thank me later. And yes, I think they will go Blu early next year. Right around 12:01 am January 1st.

Just my 2 pesos.

The Matrix Collection - BD 1.1 enhanced and with lossless audio on all 4 major titles (the 3 movies + The Animatrix).

It's Warner's biggest money-maker apart from the Harry Potter movies.

Not sure if it's a Warner title or not, but in tribute to Toshiba/Microshaft and HD-DVD in general getting the old heave-ho, I propose Gone With the Wind.

I'm only going to guess catalog titles:

"L. A. Confidential"
"The Shawshank Redemption"
"The Green Mile"
"The Exorcist"
"Heat"

Titles available on HD DVD, but not on Blu-ray.

OK, so I cheated and posted a few titles Warner has stated would be coming this year, but three of those are just so COOL!!

I would personally LOVE "Maverick" in HD (with lossless audio), but I'm not holding my breath... (even though it was supposed to already be out!).

It used to be a MGM title (my DVD at home is from MGM), but Warner Bros. has the release rights to it now... or at least they released the last version or two...

CRAPPY MOVIE, but as someone who grew up on comics, I'll get it eventually, but it will have to be a double-dip down the line, as I was just disappointed with the transfer on my HD DVD copy.

I'd REALLY like to see a new high bit-rate encode down the line for this title...

Yes your ears definitely will thank you - I have the Blu-ray Superman Returns with Dolby TrueHD and PCM and it is stunning!

I'm hoping Warner will want to capitalize on the success of Ratatouillie and release Brad Bird's first (and greatest IMO) theatrical film, The Iron Giant.

I have no idea as to why Warner is holding off releasing this premier Blu-ray title.
