Default Direct to Digital and Bluray

When do you think the movie industry will retire movie theaters and transfer every new movie that comes out in the future directly to digital platforms and Bluray?

I don't think they would ever get rid of movie theaters. I mean doesn't most of their money come from the theaters? I don't think the bluray and digital market can equal the same profit that can be made at the movies.

When every house and apartment is constructed with one entire wall designated to be a screen and the room designed with high quality speakers.

Then... and only then... maybe we'll see a scenario where studios will not see the financial benefit of having the content distribution model that they are currently using. The majority of the general public still view going to the theatre as something worth taking the time for and spending a bit of money on... a "treat" so to speak.

I do agree with this but at the same time if yu have a good setup at home, it's more intimate and I always feel I get more out of a film at home. In the cinema I forget a lot of things because you have all these distractions if it's a full audience. That being said I still want the opportunity to see a film in a theatre.

Seeing it with a bunch of people is what enhances it.

I don't know. Just something about going there to pay and see it.

I do like seeing it with a bunch of people but I never go on opening weekend though usually a week or two later because I don't want a packed house. I like my space as well as an audience to watch it with. This is just me though I'm weird.
