This guy seems to change his mind often. A few weeks ago he predicted something totally different. Something along the lines of a stalemate between the two formats. I don't think he is all that credible.

I like the second part of the prediction about blu-ray and hd dvd coming together to unify the format. While it is possible it is more than likely that studios supporting hd dvd exclusively will be viewed negatively by the public and will go neutral or blu exclusive. This does not apply to paramount/dreamworks unless they can exercise a clause in their exclusivity agreement.

In my opinion as a non insider I believe the 2 formats coming together is Toshiba producing a dual format player which of course can't be viewed as anything but a defeat.

Heck, even if Warner were still weighing its options (which I doubt, I believe their minds have already been made up for them by sales), if enough sources say they are going Blu, they could very well bow to the pressure--and the inevitable--and go Blu because it's now the wide-spread expectation.

Not credible?

Come on,.. with a name like Swanni credibility is implied.

700,000 lightly-used HD DVD players show up on eBay shortly after.

Look at this crap. You guys think dvdtown is trying to send a hint to WB to stay neutral?

Of course not! If they wanted people to know that they were changing sides they would have announced it. When asked directly that can either admit it (but then everyone would know and, like I just stated, if they wanted everyone to know they would have announced it), ignore the question (which would raise eyebrows), or deny it.

Of course they will deny it. It's no different than the $100 price cut for the PS3 everyone was talking about, they will deny it until it happens. Its normal business strategy.

And that too is based on that Lindich e-mail. You would think they would come out and publicly state this and not just send an e-mail to someone who asked about it. Who says that guy didn't just make up the whole thing anyway?

It's the standard corporate denial. Again if you guys think they would spill the beans, well you are crazy.

They've still got alot of HD DVD software out there and I am sure they'll want to sell it right up to the last possible moment.
