First I bought it and brought it home and none of the menus worked, I couldn't scroll up or down or press enter to watch anything, then I went out and returned it, came back and the same freakin thing happened! I don't know what to do! I put in a few Blu-rays and they all worked great.

Ahh, the hybrid.
http://us.lgservice.com/index_b2c.jsp <-- Go there, click on "Device Driver" in the Quick Link section. On the page that loads, your Product is "DVD&VIDEO&SET TOP". Select that, then click "Search". Your player's firmware upgrade should be the second item in the search results. I'd provide a direct link, but LG's website isn't set up to allow that. Follow the instructions to upgrade your player. Hopefully that'll solve the problems for you. Could be that the menus are written in BD-Java, and your player just needs the new firmware. Let us know how you make out. |

Ouh, I have read problems with the dual player before, not on this one title but it had trouble with POtc2 when that 1st came out & the new fox movie when they first came out (FF4 & TDAT) & troubles with some hddvd's too. If you done the most resent update & still no joy, your going to have to give them a call. |

Follow his instructions (go to Device Driver - near the middle of the page, then in the Product box select "DVD&VIDEO&SET TOP" and hit the search button). The BH100 firmware will be the second on the list... it also has the instructions there too. |

Just an FYI - Component outputs don't seem to work with the Lost season 3 disc --- When I bought my PS3 last year I was still using it with an older HDTV that only had component 1080i inputs. When I got my flat panel Samsung last month, I had continued using the component cable. Every movie I had purchased until this point (about 10) had worked fine. When I picked up Lost 3 yesterday, I brought it home, and everything would work until it got to the main menu and it would lock up with black screen - I couldn't even power the PS3 off without holding my finger on the power switch on the console for 5 seconds. Initially freaked out - thought PS3 wasn't compatible with Lost 3 (even though the label on the disc pack said "use with Playstation 3!"), So, then decided to run over to Linden and grab an HDMI cable - plugged it in and it worked fine. I have a feeling this is perhaps because the 1080p Lost season 3 is one of the first to use HDCP active - and component outputs are disabled on HDCP content.
Best of luck getting it to play on the LG BH100. Definitely check firmware version, make sure you are on HDMI, and let us know your progress. |

That's what I thought - I had read in many places Hollywood would "appease" those people still using older "non HDCP" sets until 2012 and not activate the ICT forcing people to HDCP capable HDMI. However - these discs most certainly would not play over component output at 1080p, 1080i, or 720p - but play just fine over the HDMI connection.
There are 7 "logos" on the back of the box set - I recognize some - but a few I don't? - an "A" in a hexagonal box , "SDH" in an image of a TV screen, and a red circle with slash (i.e. "Don't/Can't") with what looks like several discs inside - are three I can't easily place. (The rest are Dolby, Buena Vista, BluRay, ABC). Perhaps there's info in those logos pointing us to an answer. |

You should be able to find out some information about upgrading your firmware on that LG player here:
http://us.lgservice.com/index_b2c.jsp I don't know much about it other than "read the FAQ's there and hopefully you'll find some help for your player. |

Yes I did, before when I was playing a few BD, I would have to re-play it a couple of times for it to work. Now I haven't had that problem anymore and the PQ seems to look better, could be the movie I'm watching which is The Hills Have Eyes 2.
