Dumb question, DVD to MPEG-4? - Blu-ray Forum

I do not currently own a video/MP3 player, but I do have just a plain MP3 player.

How can I rip my DVDs into MPEG-4s to watch them on any of the video players? I have Nero7Ultra, but it will not touch them.
