Okay this is the first BD i have had problems play on my PS3. I have just updated to FW 2.01 and still nothing. It plays the WB home enterainment intro and then it freezes at the menu. Its the unrated edition. When it asks to choose the Directors or Your edition of the movie. Is there a fix?

I thought I remember something about removing the forced 24 frames.

Since i installed this firmware update I have been having problems playing some movies.
Return to House on the Haunted hill cannot get beyond the menu on both my PS3s (40 and 60). On the 40 it even gives the error (80029940). Then I tried to play Harry Potter one and it freezes on chapter 21. This is a real pain in the ass. Anyone else having these problems. Both are WB titles ![]() |

i think owa is right, you have to go into your settings in your ps3 menu, go under bd settings and change the one that says bd output 24 fps. that is probably on automatic or set to on, you have to turn that option off. If that doesnt work than I don't know what's wrong with it.

Time to start nagging Level 2 Tech Support at Sony. Get to a Level 2 technician and explain the symptoms. Don't stop at the frontline Level 1 call center people.
Call and complain. Everyone. Once the profile 1.1 firmware is out the door we'll be screwed. The time to complain is NOW before the the next firmware release candidate has gone to QA. (Trust me on this... I'm a software developer for a big financial software company. This is how it works. Level 2 techs are what feeds the developers who will fix it....otherwise it goes nowhere.) BTW someone mentioned that there is a default which may need to be changed. I cannot get past the menu on the House title and the HP title began to freeze and skip around chapter 21.
Is there a specialised disc or player cleaner I might need? https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=26892 |

Came across this on AVS. Seems that PoTC 3 was having similar problems at menu stage. Hopefully this will work out.

I've played Harry Potter 1-3 on my PS3 60GB without a problem. I have not checked this 24p setting to see what I'm using, but so far so good... I'm waiting for Pirates 3 to come in the mail and I will let you all know if I have a problem.
