Doing a Ps 3 update from a mac is no different from a Pc ( i have a mac ) just put the update file on a flash drive that is formated for both pc & mac. First make a folder called "PS3" then a sub folder called "UPDATE" and copy the ps3 firmware update file there. (all on the flash drive) make sure the folder names are all caps. Then put the flash drive in the ps3 and select update from flash drive.

Hope that answers your question.

Long live Mac!

Thumbs down oh noooooooo!

it doesn't seem to be working. i put the update in a folder, then put that folder on a flash drive. i plugged the flash drive in to a usb port in front of my ps3. i went to system update, from stored media. it said, no applicable data found. this sucks.

If the folders aren't exactly like this, it wont work.

Download the update data (PS3UPDAT.PUP) and save it in the "UPDATE" folder created in step 1.

Unhappy

so i put the update in a folder called, PS3. then i put that folder in another folder called, UPDATE. then i put that on the usb drive. the ps3 doesn't seem to recognize the flash drive. i try to update via storage media... and nothing. i'm obviously not a computer wiz and i've never dine this before, so i appreciate you guys patience.

looks like maybe i did this backwards.

Folder 'PS3' should contain folder 'UPDATE' which holds the update file.
