Default Iron Man with digital copy

Any chance of Disney/Marvel re-releasing the first Iron Man movie with a digital copy? When they got distribution rights from Paramount, they pretty much just repackaged the same exact disc, no new bonuses.

I'd upgrade my DVD in a second if they released the BD again with DC. It's pretty much the only thing preventing me from buying it.

Iron Man 2 and Iron Man 3 both come with digital copies. It makes the first Iron Man seem like the black sheep of the bunch.

Why not just make your own DC from the DVD?
If a lack of Digital Copy is what's setting you back from buying a release, you need to prioritize your collection.

Having the movie in the cloud offers benefits not found in ripping your own copy. I don't have to take up storage space on my tablet or phone, I can just stream it from the Internet.

I'm holding off "just in case" a new release happens. It's not completely out of the realm of possibilities. X-Men Origins originally was released without digital copy, then a re-release with said copy happened. Same thing with Wizard of Oz, and the first season of Game of Thrones; as well as others. I'd surely be upset if I bought the BD, only to find out a year or two down the road that it's being released again.

I would like a rerelease with a digital copy of Iron Man as well, but can only really see it happening if Marvel release a huge Phase 1-3 boxset and it includes digital copies for all the films.

The upsetting part is a boxset came out, but without digital copies.

It'll never happen.
Oh well. This thread is now pointless to me since I don't care at all for Digital Copy or Ultraviolet or Vudu or whichever name they want to give it.
Since I already have all 10 MCU movies released on Blu-ray, that's fine for me until UHD Blu. No I never activate any Digital Copy or Ultraviolet code I receive if a Blu-ray has one. Just a random pile of unused codes waiting to be bought.

HULK isn't considered part of the MCU. So yes I do own all 10 MCU movie titles already released onto Blu-ray.

I'm suprised, the Ang Lee movie wasn't that bad. I guess Marvel wants nothing to do with it.

What did you think of the movie, Hulk?

Only redeeming value was Jennifer Connelly and I prefer Sam Elliot as General "Thunderbolt" Ross over William Hope. I'd buy it if it were around $4 but I'm not very eager getting it but I used to own it on DVD. Not even sure if I'd want to Upgrade to Blu-ray though.
So yeah, official start of the MCU is with IRON MAN, while others consider HULK the unofficial start of it even though it wasn't produced by Marvel Studios (Kevin Feige, et. al) and isn't even part of the Phase One boxset. Though I'm really hoping for Phase Four there'll be another HULK film with Mark Ruffalo as the lead. Still haven't seen AVENGERS: Age of Ultron yet but I will this week.

Anthony and Joe Russo – It takes two people and it's being split into two movies.

At least Jossy was able to wrap up his movies in one, the Russo boys need two

Do you have the boxset or just the individual releases? I just have the individual ones, as the boxset was released after I already had some and I didn't feel like double-dipping just for a pretty box. (btw, is the suitcase metal or plastic?)

I don't mind at all Infinity War is being released in two parts.
Boxset is a Limited Edition plastic Attaché Case.
http://dvdcompare.net/comparisons/film.php?fid=20933#4

It's listed in my Collection link on the left of my post under the MARVEL Cinematic Universe category. I couldn't be bothered trying to get the extra features disc from the Boxset and I figured the series would look better on my shelf with all Slipcovers on them in order. I only had the IRON MAN Trilogy and made a mad dash buying the rest of the MCU movies on Blu, no way am I spending that much again playing catch up since I figured it was quite expensive, prior to Guardians of the Galaxy 3D being released.
I'm just hoping this time around I'll be patient and buy the 3D (I don't even have a monitor which is 3D) with Slipcover indivual releases for more affordable prices now. If you're heavily into Special Features, forego the Digital Copy in the meantime and just go for the Ultimate Edition 2-Disc Blu-ray for IRON MAN instead of the single disc.

I wish I could find it for a decent price, it seems to be OOP as I've found it a few places for over $50.

I decided to just go ahead and get a BD of the movie, instead of waiting. I bought the single disc Paramount version for $10. It has a few bonus features, whereas the Disney version doesn't list any. I'm not sure if this is an oversight, or if Disney actually removed them, but better to be safe than sorry.

I figured, $10 for a movie without a digital copy is a good price. I sure as hell wouldn't pay more than $10. I was willing to pay higher prices for Iron Man 2 and Iron Man 3 because both had digital copies.

I still wish the movie would be re-released with a digital copy, as it would probably be cheaper at some point. I could buy the digital from DMA for $19.99 (Disney seems obsessed with that price for digital, nearly all their movies, with a few exceptions, are at that price point), but that's a bit pricy, especially considering the BD was only $10.

So far the only DMA digital movies I bought were Candleshoe and Flight of the Navigator, because it didn't seem like they'd ever be released on Blu-ray. But normally I wouldn't even consider buying the digital version.

The Disney/Buena Vista single disc of IRON MAN is just a different SKU of the Paramount single disc with the same exact extras. It's similar to what WB is doing with Paramount re-releases. Same exact disc but just different coverart, SKU, and UPC.

Shouldn't have bought the Digital of Flight of the Navigator. Still a BD25 though.

http://dvdcompare.net/comparisons/film.php?fid=21235#1

I'm too damn lazy to even attempt to sell the Digital Copy/Ultraviolet codes I've been amassing over the past 3 or 4 years. I know I'll never use them but I bet other people would be more than happy to buy them. Same with the worthless DVDs, the ones which are just the movie with barely any features, which are with the Blu-rays too. But not going to sell the DVD if it has tons of Special Features on it.
So yeah Digital Copy is completely pointless to me to the end of time but I know I can get money from it just so I can buy even more Blu-rays.

If you like making-of documentaries at all the 2-disc of Iron Man really is worth it. One of the best making-of docs ever put out is on disc two. If it's finally going up in price though I guess it would be hard for me to buy it too.

The single disc still has a pretty good documentary on the origins of Iron Man in the comics.

Imports means no Magic Points (I got points getting it from DMA)

***

About my Iron Man order: the jackass I ordered it from cancelled today, only stating "technical problems"

Never order anything from the 3rd-party seller "deep_discount_dvd_cd" on Amazon. They will just cancel it on you.

Buy the Ultimate Edition with Slipcover from eBay Buy It Now. It's what I did for the majority of MCU films I didn't own. Except I paid more than I wanted to, especially for the Target Exclusive for THE AVENGERS 3D.
Yeah, Deep Discount isn't any good anymore as they used to be. They used to be solid about delivering in the mid 2000's and then they took a nose dive.

EDIT: I've completely finished buying all the current MCU movies on Blu-ray anyway and all I need to do is just buy them as they're released. The MCU TV shows I could just jump around about buying them.
