you will either need an ISF Calibration or use a Calibration DVD...also the bluray version of Ratatouille has an HD Calibration tool on it.

From what I understand picture calibration is on most or all Blu-ray discs. They have it as an easter egg just use your remote or PS3 controller and type in 7669

After using the 7669, you might need some instructions on how to use those hidden test patterns if you're not familiar with them. YouTube offers some pretty useful how-to videos on the test patterns that pop up with 7669. You'll probably find me commenting on a few those sites, goofing around...

I prefer the THX Optimzers on DVD, though, because it requires the use of a blue tinted filter to help calibrate the color and tint, which makes me feel more confident than just eyeballing it.

Another trick that I've been thinking of doing myself is to just ask someone who has the same television to give you their settings, if they've had it professionally calibrated with the same room light setting that you might have. Actually, even if they calibrated it themselves using a disc, I'd like to give it a shot. You might find these people here or maybe in one of those professional sights such as AVS.
