Yeah, Stone's 4ks besides Platoon are incredibly solid. I'm expecting this to be a huge upgrade considering how bad the bd is.

Salvador is the kind of gritty film you can watch as a good tonic to all the modern fluff we’re mostly lumbered with today, and it’s my favourite Oliver Stone movie without a doubt. James Woods is absolutely phenomenal in it too, along with an excellent supporting cast.

As is generally the case when a US 4K release is announced, I can’t help but wonder who might end up releasing it in the UK eventually.

I was around to see this on VHS, and it was quite sobering with Woods and Stone at their best. It's been a while since I've seen it, so I'm very happy to be able to own it in 4k. And yes, since "Platoon" hit the fan, the Stone releases have looked great.

My memory's not particularly fresh because it's been over a decade since its blu-ray release at this point, but could swear Twilight Time (or rather someone who worked at Twilight Time) said that Heaven and Earth was a very slow seller for them. Which tracks because I seem to remember that run of 3000 units was hanging around for ages and ages through multiple bargain basement sales. Strange, because I think to this day, it remains the only official release of the movie anywhere in the world. The lack of popularity could always have been to do with the notably poor HD master though, rather than a reflection of the quality of the movie itself.
