Lightbulb Simpsons Seasons on blu-ray?

Hi i was looking to see which site had the lowest price for "The simpsons Movie" when i came accross "The Simpsons - Season One" Does anyone know if this is for real? or could it be a mistake on Targets part. Either way i think it would be cool to have all one season on one disc but doubt it will happen. But it could be a good way to start seeing the 100gb. blu-ray in use.

Since Target gets there stuff from Amazon, I went over there and checked and yes it is listed just as you say. That would be absolutely amazing if it is true. 500-600 minutes on one Blu-Ray!

They do that to many titles that have no release date or even the thought of coming out on blu yet! They have Star Wars advertised as well.

I agree. For me, if it hasn't been announced here or by the issueing studio (and by here I mean outside of the message boards) then I put no credence in it...

Yeah, this is more of a placeholder kind of thing in the "what if" chance it ever gets released.

I'm guessing that this kind of thing happens as a result of people inquiring as to whether or not a particular title will be released, so that if people search for it, they find the listing, but see that there's no plans at this time (it will cut down on repetitive inquiries).

I guess it would be cool. But I don't know how much the early episodes would even benefit from the Hi-Def treatment. Plus, seeing as to how I already have seasons 1 through 10 on DVD, I really can't see rebuying them all in Hi-Def.

I am getting the movie on Blu-Ray, but I don't know about the series.

Nothing past a few years ago will benefit at all. They're mastered on analog, then digital SD videotape. There is no film to reshoot. It wasn't even HD until 2003 or 4 I think.

Seriously, there's no point.

Earlier season were shot on FILM, from 2000 to today it's DRAW in computer in 4x3 at 640x480 fixed rez. FILM can be rescanned but Computer, you're screwed unless it in a complete 3D world you can re-render (like they did for 1 ep of Southpark) but Simpson is pure 2D....

That placeholder might have been there for a VERY long time.

Back in '05, they issued this announcement:

http://www.bit-tech.net/news/2005/08/04/fox_blu_ray/

It would be nice if those movies and TV shows on Blu-Ray would see the light of day. Especially X-Men 1-2, and the Alien Quadrology.

Alas.... it's been 2 years now. But at least we have Lost Season 3!

They were shot on film, and then transferred to tape. Film that has undoubtedly gone in some korean dumpster decades ago.

Just like every other cartoon made in that era. VERY few places have saved the original film for animated TV shows.

Oh ok sucks tought. Computer animation doesn't fix anything also. Simpson, Futurama, Family Guy where all done in TV Rez.. witch sucks

The Futurama Bender Score movie was done in HD tought, would be cool if Fox release that in BluRay or the pack will all 2 other coming movies that are done in 1920x1080p...
