Default best place to get some HDMI 1.3a cables?

as the topic says...what the best place you guys have found to get some quality HDMI 1.3a cables. Just picked up a 1080p panny plasma and yamaha 1800 receiver...i know monster is a good cable and all but 129 for their 1000 series or 100 bucks for their 800 series...is there a site or that has something comparable to the monster hdmi cable performance?

If you are paying more that $25 for any A/V cable, you are getting ripped off, in my opinion.

Fry's sells some for around $25 in the computer cable section. You can also probably buy a pack of 5 HDMI cables for $10 off ebay.

Monster, Belkin, etc., rip people off daily.

You have your answer. monoprice.com. I ordered a lot of cables all at once, if you look at their prices, you'll know why.

The monoprice cables are excellent. You will wonder why you ever bought a Monster Cable.

We're talking about a digital cable and a digital signal. No matter how good or bad the cable is, if the zero's and one's get there, they get there. You won't see any improvement in picture or sound quality no matter how beyond spec your cable is.

If you see bad artifacts or your picture or sound stutter, then your cable is bad and you need to return it. If you don't, then it's as good as it gets. No point in spending $100 for a cable with a lifetime guarantee when you can buy one without the guarantee for $6.50 and just throw it out if it goes bad in 3 years.

Well my whole system is wired with calbes from Monoprice. And they work like a charm.
I also like that I can order something and show up at their warehouse in about 30 mins later and pick it up. And only reason for the delay is that is how long it takes me to drive there.

To be fair, just because its digital doesn't mean its invincible. Cat5/5e/6 cable is subect to different quality levels. Crosstalk can be a concern even with digital cables, and of course emissions from flourecent lights can hurt ethernet transfer. Close proximity to elecrical outlets can affect even digital transfer too. I'm not advocating monster, in fact I hate them, but it's not a non issue either.

I know there's a thread around somewhere with a lot of discussion about the cheap cables vs Monster debate. Basically with digital cables, so long as the signal arrives intact, there is 0 quality difference no matter what some will have you believe. As Beavis mentioned, digital cables suffer from interference and degradation just like analog cables do. The difference is that digital cables (due to the nature of digital ) can degrade without the information being lost while any degradation in analog causes the information to be changed. Unless you're dealing with long runs or an electrically noisy environment, the cheap HDMI cables perform the same as the Monster cables.
