Since the feature is allready in current UHD players and will be in future ones this begs the question...
Will the online disc activasion be region based or will it be a worldwide thing? Let's assume they will implement it 2 years from now (wide consumer base) and we (collector's mainly!) have bought discs from all over the world.. It could well be that a disc from Germany will not play annymore when it's region based activasion making it useless if you live in the US. The discs are regionfree indeed wich is a good deal for all of us collector's but if it is region based activasion this could be a verry costly affair and we might be stuck with discs that dont wanna start annymore! We need to know this right now as there are allready titles out there to import ,one such example is The Texas chainsaw massacre (1974) UHD from germany. Dont count on VPN to bypass this region issue as it might not. I hope someone can provide a answer to this verry important (costly!) question ,someone from the industry could fill us in here? |
