Okay, I saw this earlier and thought it was brilliant. Better-than-usual characterisation, interesting concept, some genuinely creepy moments and an excellent score that reminded me of Carpenter's 70s/80s stuff.

Holy crap! New classic status!
Wow I loved it, John Carpenter is alive and well and living insideDavid Robert Mitchell. It was shot like the camera was on a slab of slow moving ice, and the score and sound mix just made it all so effective. It blew me away! 10/10 Last edited by dvdmike; 02-27-2015 at 08:58 PM. |

I'm dying to see this. Reviews are so f-ing good and it seems so stylish and unique. Why can't something fresh like this get a wide release over most of the generic horror garbage that floods multiplexes? I'm sure audiences would hate it but with a solid marketing campaign could be turned into an alright Box Office performer.
Listened to these tracks of the score ( http://blogs.indiewire.com/theplayli...llows-20150225 ). Amazing. Kind of reminds me of the music for The Guest, You're Next, etc... Loving these retro horror flicks. |

A little bit overrated in my opinion (anyway by some movie critics) but still a very good horror film whose atmosphere owes a lot to Disasterpeace's awesome score. Can't wait to buy it on Blu (for once, we're pretty lucky in France since it will come out in early June along with David Robert Mitchell's 1st film, The Myth of the American Sleepover).

I'd be super happy if there was a list of theaters where this will be playing, but... I can't seem to find one. You'd think what with the film being out in two weeks, there would be a theater listing up, but I guess not.
Probably won't come anywhere close to me, anyway. Thanks, Ohio! Lol. And when it comes out to buy it'll probably be DVD only. I could totally see that happening. Lol. |
