Does Anyone Know For Sure If This Player Will Be Able To Update To The Profile 1.1 Firmware?

Highly unlikely.

Do I know this as fact...no. But it has been out for a few months now...and only reason PS3 was able to was the horsepower under the hood, highly unlikely the s300 could.

No. The player only has one video processor. For Profile 1.1 you need two. That is atleast my understanding.

Thanks. I Have A Ps3 And My Dad Just Bought The S300. I'm Just Curious If He Should Return It And Get A Newer Model That Will Support Profile 1.1

Right now there are only two that will. The PS3 and the Panasonic BDP-30.

profile 1.1 is mainly for PiP.

Bluray movies will play in all Bluray players, just the extras might not be compatible.

I want to know does everyone think that the PS3 will stay strong as a Blu player as far as being a better Blu player than most
