December 2016 50 Movie Challenge - Blu-ray Forum

The obvious choice is to go with holiday movies, but we are of course going to watch a lot of non-holiday stuff as well. So this month is another "Make-Your-Own-Challenge": 10 categories, 5 movies each. At least one has to be holiday movies and/or shows (Christmas/Hannukuh/New Year), but the rest are up to you: genres, actors, directors, decades... whatever you want.
If you do holiday TV episodes, it takes two hourlong or four half-hour shows to count as one movie.

The usual details:

50 movies is the goal, but based on your own time and situation you can shoot for more or less, so we have different levels from Bronze to Platinum:
60 Movies - Platinum
50 Movies - Gold
40 Movies - Silver
30 Movies - Bronze
If you're going to repost your entire list each time, please hide it under spoiler tags
If you are going to post pictures for the films (poster art or bluray covers, for example) please try not to use GIANT pictures, and if there are tons of them, again - please hide under spoilers

Happy I watched all my unwatched last year; I had too many...
But not counting the 6 I got for Christmas.

And I only bought 16 all year. First time I ever stuck to a New Year's Resolution.

Also didn't eat McDonald's in 2016. Stuck to 2 resolutions.

I used to eat a ton of Rotten Ronald's; restaurants are closed usually from 2-5 in Taiwan, o I got busy and missed lunch only option is fast food, and they delivery here (hate driving here) and they have an app in English; all too easy. I was getting it delivered all the time; ate way too much in 2015.

Intruders was a pretty good thriller starring a Martin Starr, one of the Culkin brothers, and a Kate Hudson doppleganger, until it fell apart in the last 20 minutes or so, knocking the rating down a bit.

That closes out my first set of 5. Oddly none of them fit into the few categories I have settled on so far. Still have to decide on the rest.

Everything I have seen about Star Wars: Rogue One has me optimistic, but rewatching this snoozefest from director Gareth Edwards does stir up a little nervousness.

I still think they may as well have titled it MUTOs, since the film spends more time on them than Godzilla. He has literally less than 10 minutes of total screen time.

Alec Guinness made a string of Ealing comedies and for me this is the best one.
Alec Guinness and Stanley Holloway play the two old farts that devise the brilliant plan of melting down gold bullion into miniature Eiffel towers so they can be smuggled out of the country. Word has it that the ending had to be changed due to the censors at the time.

But not counting the 6 I got for Christmas. And I only bought 16 all year. First time I ever stuck to a New Year's Resolution. Also didn't eat McDonald's in 2016. Stuck to 2 resolutions. I used to eat a ton of Rotten Ronald's; restaurants are closed usually from 2-5 in Taiwan, o I got busy and missed lunch only option is fast food, and they delivery here (hate driving here) and they have an app in English; all too easy. I still think they may as well have titled it MUTOs, since the film spends more time on them than Godzilla. He has literally less than 10 minutes of total screen time.

Alec Guinness and Stanley Holloway play the two old farts that devise the brilliant plan of melting down gold bullion into miniature Eiffel towers so they can be smuggled out of the country. Word has it that the ending had to be changed due to the censors at the time. 1/2
