fronts - definitive technology BP7002BLA
center - " " CLR2300BLA Rears - " " BP1XBLA Sub - " " Supercube 1 Receiver - Denon AVR-3808CI the sub would come later because the room that this will be in will be very small. it will be going in a much larger room in less then a year with a front projector, then the sub will be added. Current TV - Sony KDL46XBR2, current source equipment - 80gig PS3. I was playing around for a while with Vienna Acoustics Mozart Grands with Vienna center and surrounds. sounded great but to soft. tried klipsch, way to tin like. last i tried the def techs mythos and they also sounded like tin, however look much better then the black sock covered towers. What do you think and be honest. I hope to be taking home theater to a new level soon. Ive got about 125 blu-ray and get the perfect video but want the perfect sound. |

Looks nice, IF YOU LIKE THE SOUND. That's the most important thing, nobody else can tell you exactly what speaker to buy.
Since you say you want perfect sound and you obviously have quite a budget, consider also getting a Panasonic DMP-BD30 so that you can have DTS-HD MA with your new receiver. |

Room interaction with your speakers is what ultimately will affect the sound.
The list itself is fine since DT makes fine products. If you buy from a dealer who will give you a 30 day trial, go for it. |

Sounds like a fine set up.Nice to see someone paying attention to great sound. My personal
taste would have gone for the Mozarts however, because i like their more laid back sound. bill |

I was told those are the ideal speakers for people who love music, but if your looking more towards home theater, there are better ones for that purpose. I don't know, i listened to a bunch of different speakers and they all blew my mind!

It sounds like you definitely appreciate good music as well as movies. If you would like a lot of bang for the buck, I would recommend auditioning the following speakers:
Bowers & Wilkins - Warm, engaging, and incredibly detailed and transparent. Fantastic British audio sound and manners. They probably have the best overall speakers I have listened to. The 800 and 700 series speakers are incredible, and actually the lower end 600 series is great too. If you can afford them, I would suggest auditioning them with both music and movies. Paradigm Reference Signature Series - Either floor standers or stand-mounted versions. They offer great resolution, imaging, and tight bass, and work equally well for music or movies. They routinely sound as good as or better than speakers more than double their cost. Monitor Audio Gold Series - Another company offering great value with killer instincts. The fit and finish of their cabinets and components are astonishing given the price. I recently installed these in a friends theater system, and I was surprised at how big and focused the soundstage was coming from two stand mounted mini-monitors. |

Id really recommend the McIntosh XRT28s they would be the way to go the base is PERFECT, everything is wonderful. I think their running at 18k or 19k a pair, I would have recommended the "upgraded" xrt30 but the base is really to much even for a huge room + its like 35k or more. we really love McIntosh so I guess im biased lol but I couldnt see getting anything else

May I suggest NHT speakers? Very underrated ..but some of the cleanest sound I've heard!!
My cousin is a high end home theater installer and even he swears by them. http://nhthifi.com/ |

because of my employment, im able to save money on definitive technology, klipsch, vienna acoustic, and martin logan.
i went back again and almost hated the klipsch rf82's. the def techs sounded a bit better then the vienna's, i felt in a movie like dts-ma demo. |

Yes, all but the least expensive ML's are hybrid electrostats (they have cone woofers), and they do have a sweet spot, though it's large enough to encompass more than one person. I think bootman's got the best idea: If at all possible, take the speakers home and listen to them there before you make a final decision. You're planning to spend a fair amount of money for a pretty nice system and you'll make the best decision in your own listening room.

My favorite, Great on music, but extra special on movies. If this is a small room your not going to need an extra sub, as the 2002's have subs built in. Yes, you'll already have twin subs! Again with a small room I would suggest the CLR 2002 (use the same in my large bedroom), as the CLR 2003 has a sub as well. Can you say overkill?
YOUR ear is the only one that can pick the perfect speaker. Any GOOD dealer will let you take them home over a weekend and test them out in YOUR room. You'll have to leave a credit card on file while you do....fyi. Also I would give the Denon and Pioneer Elite a side by side listen. I find the Elite has better channel seperation. While the OP can't get NHT at a discount, I still want to second this for anyone else reading who is interested in buying speakers. I have NHT speakers and they are amazing in every way.

If you look at my signiture running a similar system. I also would give the elites a trial. you could get a 94 txh for about the same as the 3808. i compared the 2808 and 91txh side by side and loved the elite with the def techs. just my opinion though. your ears are in charge!!!
