I have been searching various forums for a while but can't seem to come up with a solid answer for the following question. I have a Sony BDP S1 hooked up to a Lexicom MC12. My MC12 does not have HDMI inputs. So I have connected both the digital audio and the analog audio connections from the Sony to the MC12. I have been using the ananlog connection when I choose PCM and I use the digitial connection when there is only a Dolby Digital soundtrack. My question is should I always be using the ananlog connection? Would this give me the best sound? I'm guessing that if I choose Dolby Digital or Ture HD in my blu ray settings that the Sony would internally decode this and send it through the analog outputs. Is this correct? Is this the best way to do it? Since my MC12 does not decode TrueHD or any of the newer formats would I always be better off using the analog inputs? Thanks in advance for your help.
