A24 is an American independent entertainment company founded on August 20, 2012, by Daniel Katz, David Fenkel, and John Hodges and based in New York City. They've released the hit movies Spring Breakers, Lady Bird, Ex Machina, and Moonlight.

I'd like to pick up Low Tide but it is DVD only right now. I'd be interested to know why only a handful of titles are DVD only in the US. Strange, but maybe at some point it will get the blu treatment overseas

It's 4K DV on iTunes if you do that.

I wish the Lighthouse had a 4K release, but from what I heard the blu-ray looks and sounds great. Can't wait to watch my copy.

Are any stores like Best Buy or Target carrying a good amount of A24 films at the moment? Or are a lot of the more recent ones (like the ones from last year) already off the shelves?

Depends on the store and popularity of the movie. The Witch, Hereditary, Ex Machina, Green Room, and so forth I've seen in stores constantly while less popular ones don't really stay around long after a month from the disc's release.

Best Buy usually has a better selection, Target will usually stock select titles and sometimes they only have DVD versions, but Target usually has a digital coupon for new releases for A24 on their app.

For more recent releases, Target (at least in my area) carries Midsommar, Gloria Bell & The Lighthouse, select stores might still have High Life, but it’s been removed from my store. They also carried only the DVD versions of The Farewell & Last Black Man in San Francisco. Other than that since A24 began releasing their films on BD-R, we haven’t had many in stores - Best Buy was usually the best place to find them especially on their not so popular releases, but with the releases getting pressed on BD-R & Best Buy reducing their media section, it’s been a little tough getting their titles in store.

I picked this one up yesterday on DVD, as a collector of A24, I grabbed it since it was only $10. But I’ll replace it once it gets a Blu-ray overseas like I did with Hot Summer Nights.

Well most of A24 movies are films that have already been made independently and then A24 buys them to release. So essentially he acts in a movie and then A24 picks it up. I'm unsure if they're actually staring to pay for film productions, but for the most part, it's just coincidence.

Do we have a chance of seeing In Fabric on Blu-ray (Region A)? Even if it's a BD-R, I'd love to own it physically. Hopefully it would be the unrated version too. Has there been any news on this? I know it usually takes a couple of months after the theatrical run for smaller A24 movies to hit Blu-ray, so I'm assuming at least February.

There was a mention in the Criterion thread regarding Fabric...

In Fabric will likely be a BD-R. There’s also Euphoria, which may not get a physical release.

Hopefully Saint Maud gets a pressed blu, I’m interested in seeing that.

Understandable if so. I'll still take it! I'm still interested in Euphoria but haven't seen it yet due to not having an HBO subscription anymore. I'd pick that up too if it were released. Thanks!

I'm curious about Uncut Gems. Someone in another thread heard that the A24 Lionsgate deal might be over, so hopefully that makes the cut for a release before the deal is over. (If it is over that is) I really want to own this one soon.
