Default Back and still alive from Boxing day at Walmart

LOL Walmart opened at 1pm here in Québec, there was at least 300 people outside waiting (our city have about 35,000 people top LOL), they had about 10 Disney/Buena title for 2 for 30$CAD (15$ each), in about 5 minutes, the only stuff that was left was the crap (that snake movie...)

They had a 18$ HD DVD deal with Paramount title. I left 2 hours after , they maybe sold about 3-4 films top...

They are 0 HD presence here in Repentigny, the only thing people have are PS3 or HD DVD Add on and the recently released Venturer at 199$. People have to go about 30 minutes outside the city to reach a big electronics store...

Personnally i got AvP for 19.99$CAD at HMV witch was done from 34.99$ then down to 26.99$ near Xmas and now was 19.99$...

There was a UBER long file at Eb Games and Canadian Tire(store witch sells HouseHold Stuff, tools and autopart)

I bought a bunch of FOX/MGM movies at Future Shop for $19.99 each. I also got POTC 3 for $24.99 instead of $34.99.

I went to Wal-Mart, they had no signs for the 2 for $30 sale or anything. They still had the regular Blu-ray stand but there was no sign of any changes to it.

So I thought, they screwed this one up. I'm heading out for Future Shop then and therefore, I bought a bunch of movies.

I also got Knocked Up (single disc edition) for $7.99 and Children of Men for $5.99 at HMV's door crashers event at 8am this morning.

I went to WalMart in Toronto and it was too crowded. I was lucky to get The Prestige but most of the movies on sale were gone. There were so many empty slots on the Blu-ray side of the rack. Then I went to the other side of the rack where the HD DVDs are and they were still full

I'll go back tomorrow to check if they refilled that rack. I might pick up a few more because $15 a piece is a steal of a deal.

I also picked up The Simpsons Season 2 & 3 on DVD for $14.99 each.

From Futureshop I bought Rio Bravo, The Searchers and Letters From Iwo Jima. I almost picked up Speed, AVP, transporter 1 & 2 and Superman Returns but I would probably be broke and won't be able to buy and new Blu-ray movies or PS3 games for a while.

I'm pretty sure all Disney/Touchtone movies are on sale because I had the same problem locating that 2 for $30 display.

That's what I was looking at first... but apparently they didn't stock any with Blu-ray Discs in it. All were DVDs and I looked around. Nothing except for the regular Blu-ray display stand.

My local Wal-Mart was the same, they had no Blu-ray titles in the advertised Boxing Day aisle stacks.
I grabbed all the Blu's I was interested in from the regular section and I took them over to the self scanner. Only 1 title came up at $15 (Rambo First Blood) so I bought it.

I went over to Future Shop and bought quite a few at $19.99:

- Behind Enermy Lines
- Dawn of the Dead
- Kingdom of Heaven
- X-men The Last Stand

That's the problem with these sales.
The flyer shows a picture of 6 Blu titles at 2 for $30 and above that it says "AND MANY MORE!"

The Wal-Mart staff have not been told what other titles are on sale and no list is provided.

The same thing happened at Future Shop when they had the BOGO.
A BOGO list was not provided to the consumers and the staff had no clue what titles were included.

Oh yes, that's what happened. I remember when I went there and I was like, huh? The Future Shop HQ screwed up big time.

In a way... but at the local Future Shop, they certainly did not put them on a display for everybody to see and not all were labelled $19.99.

But this time I got smart with them. What I did was type down the names of the movies, printed it out and brought it with me in case they didn't do enough of a good job. They did okay, but they didn't mark all of the titles to $19.99 as they were supposed. Plus they put a lot of FOX/MGM titles on some shelves but that's because they are running out of room to stock Blu-ray and HD DVD. People could had easily missed these movies because they're not obvious to the people passing by.

Thankfully, they were all already priced $19.99 at the checkout.

Yea, one of the Walmarts here in Calgary was almost completely devoid of blu rays. It was crazy, since I got there about an hour and a half after it opened and there were only about 5 or 6 movies left (the way the HD section is set up, its got 4 sides facing out, 3 of which are full of blu and 1 side red).
