Resistance: Fall of Man

Hey guys, I just started playing Resistance: Fall of Man and I was wondering if there are "health packs" throughout the game to use because I am on the first level and it does not seem as if there are any. Is it the type of game where you have to play up to a certain checkpoint? Your input is appreciated. Thanks.

health packs appear after the first stage and you'll see why....

Hmm. I'm not so sure about that, but it was definitely fun. But to each his own I suppose.

Main character gets infected by a swarm of small bugs at the end of the first stage. That's why he gets to use the chimeran health packs afterwards.

The best launch game but definately not EVER.
