Default Labyrinth (1986)

Anyone have any info on the release of this movie? I can't find anything after numerous searches. It's a Sony Studio release so it should be in the pipeline.

I actually don't really like this movie but my Girl adores it. I can't stand movies with singing in them.

In my opinion, not to be rude or anything, but that movie will least likely to be released on blu-ray........no offense again

Trust me, you are not offending me I actually do not like the movie. My girl wants to buy the newest release DVD 2-disc (12/18/07). But I think Sony must have it in mind for Blu since it seems to be such a popular movie. I just do not see it on Sony's current release schedule.

Are you aware how many times they released it on DVD? Quite a few times. In fact, they just re-issued it months ago. They must have released it on DVD around... 5 times now in North America and that's in under 10 years.

Though we were told that the master is in poor condition and would need to be heavily restored before it would be released on Blu-ray Disc. But I think it would be safe to expect it to hit Blu-ray within a couple years.

I am a Bowie fanatic and although the film is a bit hard to stomach I will pick it up when released. I believe it is a top candidate for Blu-ray. Sony will likely release the Dark Crystal as well. You can bet the "Superbit" ttles will all make their Blu-ray debuts in the coming months.

Amazing movie, and was third highest on the 1980s list so "no offense" but the opinion that it is low on the list of movies to come is not shared by the majority.
This movie will be awesome on blu when it happens.

The poll taken here says otherwise.

I'm really not interested either, but I know there's many people that like and want Labyrinth on Blu.

Do a search, there was an extensive thread about it a few months ago

Synopsys- It must go to Lowry for a cleanup, because even brand new 35mm prints don't look very good

I bet it will be a great restoration though. It may take a while, but it will get done right. Can't wait for it and The Dark Crystal.

Maybe from it needing restored. As far as popular and demand movies it is probably rather high. It would probably sell far better than most Blu-rays released so far. Some people really underestimate or have no idea the popularity and huge fan base this movie has.

Have you ever noticed, and also no offense intended, that when someone does not like a movie, they just cannot imagine it being a title likely to be released. The fact is that individuals opinions of movies only relly bear on how likely something is to be released if the majority of people share the opinion.

I absolutely hated Ace Ventura. Still want my time back. Thought it should be buried forever and never could possible see a sequel. Guess what. I ended up in the position of taking a sacred vow never to see Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls to avoid ever going through the trauma again. And why, because a lot of people did not share my opinion.

Seriously, not picking on this particular poster, but I see this a lot on title discussions. People stating flatly that a film under discussion could not possibly be a likely candidate for release.

I absolutely love Barry Gordy's The Last Dragon. That said, I have no illusions about the likelihood of my devotion to it moving it up to the top tier of BD releases. Too bad, I really would like to hear that dreadful score in uncompressed PCM.

Your not the only one that hated and despised Ace Ventura. I thought that was the dumbest bunch of crap I have ever seen. I am not a fan of Jim Carey at all. Very few films, if any I like of his. I think The Grinch is about it.

I thought Liar Liar was pretty good.

I would like to see Labyrinth in blu-ray as well as I grew up watching this stuff.

Favorite of the few of his flicks I like is Once Bitten. Before anyone knew who he is. Plus his girlfriend in that movie is really hot. In the same class as Jennifer Connelly IMO. Though I don't think she went on to be an Oscar winner.

I agree 100%.

Every time a new Blu release is announced, there's always at least one person proclaiming how much the movie sucks.

Some people here think the Blu release schedule should revolve around their tastes.
