Stand By Me - 1986 - Blu-ray Forum

I am very surprised not to see any forum postings about the 1986 movie Stand By Me. I would LOVE to have this on Blu-ray!

Why? It's a very visually stunning movie showing landscapes and has some points where high definition audio would kick some ass - such as the train dodging scenes. As far as I've seen, however, the audio mix was originally mono. The aspect ratio was 1.85:1 on 35mm.

Who's with me on this??

I've always wanted to!! I live in Portland Oregon and understand it's near Eugene, is it??

Yup, the town is called Brownsville, and they filmed around Eugene, alot in Cottage Grove I believe too. Some In Nor Cal too.

Im also a huge fan of this movie. 25th anniversary coming up next year so maybe a release for 2011? Will be interesting to see what they would do with the video side of things, because it has quite a soft look to it. No doubt this was intentional.

I SOOO want this on Blu-Ray... This is one of if not my favorite movie of all time and it needs to be done properly. I am all about it!

Best movie ever! I could watch this over and over and never get tired of it, I think I saw it a million times! Hurry up and release it on Blu-Ray!!!!
