Default December 13 will be the death of me

Seriously there are so many good and expensive blu ray titles coming out that day. Damn it. The hellraiser scarlet box, the twilight zone, black christmas, creepshow 2, fear the walking dead.

Yeah I want all those except Walking Dead. I'll just put Twilight Zone off 'til later though, and should be able to afford the rest. If I have to delay one it'll be Black Christmas, since the others are limited.

I was looking at this week of releases a few days ago. It's going to be a costly one for me, but the other weeks in December are pretty light. I'm aiming for Hellraiser, Creepshow 2, Black Christmas, Suicide Squad, Dreamscape, Morgan, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, The Legend Of Korra: Complete Series, Ben-Hur, Shelley, and Let's Be Evil.

I know I want them all, but I will probably leave black christmas for later. I am also having doubts about fear the walking dead. Hellraiser and twilight zone are must haves for me

Thankfully, I've already paid for most of the December 13 Blu-rays that I want.

I've already pre-ordered these titles (and subtracted the money from my bank account ledger)...

Black Christmas
Creepshow 2
Hellraiser: The Scarlet Box
Sudden Fear
Dreamscape

The ones that I have left to order are...

The Asphalt Jungle (This one should be available for cheap during one of the Christmas sales)
The Barefoot Contessa
The 3 Worlds of Gulliver

I may get Suicide Squad as well at some point, but there's no hurry for that one.

Black Christmas and Suicide Squad are the only ones I'm getting that day. Can't wait to dive into those Black Christmas extra features.

I get Creepshow 2 and Hellraiser from Arrow as a Gold Backer, so that leaves The Asphalt Jungle, Sudden Fear, Black Christmas, Dreamscape, The Barefoot Contessa and The Park is Mine. I'll wait on the Criterion.com sale for Asphalt, the next Amazon/KL sale for Park, the next SAE/TT sale for Contessa, and the next DD 15% off sale for Fear, Christmas, and Dreamscape (unless they're eligible during the B & N 40% off sale and I have 20% coupons available to me as well). It doesn't seem any more wallet-crushing than any other week, there's basically a half-dozen titles I want coming out virtually every single week of the year now!

There are people out there who still don't have The Twilight Zone on Blu-ray? Shame on you

I don't like when everything I want is lumped into the same date. December 13 is light for me but Nov.22 is a problem. Not one but TWO Vestron titles, To Live and Die In L.A., Rabid, One-Eyed Jacks, The Mechanic remake and whatever Kino titles I'm probably forgetting about lol. There's also that Dawn of the Dead Italian set that comes out the same week

Actually, 12/13 is looking big too, with 6 titles that street on that date. Oh, well - my family will have to wait for their Christmas presents a while longer

Can't wait to see that box from Amazon

November has been absurd for me, December looks just as bad. My issue comes to with not only Black Friday, I get hit with the following
-mother in law birthday
-wife birthday
-father in law birthday
-mother birthday
-brother in law birthday
-sons birthday
-Christmas
-Criterion sale
-record store day Black Friday event
All within a 6 week period
Word to the wise, plan better than I did with my family, or get a nice credit card. Not being mean, but get a family with spaced out birthdays. My wife complains similarly that she gets hit with Father's Day, my birthday, our anniversary within a month

When in doubt, ask Santa.

As for me, I already have my 12/13 purchases pre-ordered.

For me, those first few weeks of December are going to be insane between my domestic pre-orders and international pre-orders.

Hellraiser: The Scarlet Box
Jason Bourne 4K Steelbook
Suicide Squad 4K Steelbook
Jessica Jones: Season 1 (UK Steelbook)
The Purge: Election Year (UK Steelbook)
Fright Night (UK Steelbook)
The Guyver (UK Release)
Donnie Darko (UK Limited Edition)

This sounds very similar to my October.

- wedding where my daughter was flower girl
- daughters 2nd Bday trip to Disneyland x 2 days
- car tag renewal
- father in laws bday
- Wife's aunts bday
- wife's cousins bday
- Criterion flash sale
- stupid number of good October releases
- wife's car battery died
- more I can't even remember now

October was a killer for me. I canceled a bunch of stuff and STILL overspent and even got in a screaming match with the wife about it. I spent like $400 in October, it was nuts. Thankfully we don't have kids and can afford stuff like that, but it was still way overboard. December doesn't look as bad as October for me.
