Default Full Metal Jacket Poor Quality?

Hi all
I've been playing various Blu-ray Disc's on my PS3 with pin sharp and clear imaging, I have just tried a Blu-ray version of Stanley Kubricks 'Full Metal Jacket' (1080P 16x9), and have to say that it is dreadful.
Its appears to be 'grainy and of poor quality. I am connecting using HDMI, on a TV that has prooved it can deliver.
Has anyone else tried this film?
Ta Bruce

Is it the original version or the remastered one? The original release had horrible PQ.

Is the Remastered one in a White Package like the DVD or is it the Green One?

I can only assume it has been re-mastered.

ok, thanks for clearing that up for me,

Does seem a bit odd that they bother to market 2 Blu-ray versions of the same disc, and only one of them is HD

they both are hd. one is a very poor hd transfer though. it was one of the earlier blu-ray releases and they didn't exactly know how to make the picutre look as nice back then. they went back, fixed some things, re-released it and now the new one looks much better.

I got the Bad one too. It was a Christmas gift, I guess I'll just go exchange it for the Good one. (Not had a chance to open it yet! Lucky for me.)

Thats a good question, this was bought last week as a Christmas presant from a High Street store, the former Virgin retail chain

The deluxe edition came out about 2 months ago and the original is well over a year old...

Im pretty sure that they wont be making any more of the first transfer but I doubt they will pull it from shelves and miss out on lost profits.

I have the original white version and don't remember the pq being that bad. Then again it was one of my first few movies so perhaps if I watched it again I might feel differently, especially when compared to POTC.

I received the 'good' copy, as one of my freebee's when I bought my ps3.
Unfortunately I didn't think it was a very good movie.

Well that sucks, I got the white version a while back and haven't watched it yet (due to too many other films to watch). I got it from Virgin Megastores/ Zavvi earlier this month, they didn't have the other version.
