Just got Full Metal Jacket - Blu-ray Forum

I know I saw a lot of questions in a previous thread, so I figured I'd post and let all who don't know that the new version has been re-mastered. Haven't watched it yet, but the sticker on the front states "Newly Remastered Feature".

Ordered it through Warner. Unfortunatly they've yet to ship 2001, Clockwork, and the Shining.

Waiting on my movies to ship from amazon. So far the shinning and eyes wide shut still say they arent shipping yet. However both hostels, mr brooks, meet the robinsons, scary movie and full metal jacket is on its way

Mine arrived today, which is really is a miracle given my purchased was from Warner Home Video. I had only enough time to watch first 10 minutes. Man, brought back memories. The first half of that movie is prime cut.

The picture looked very good to me. The men's barracks are "eat off the walls, floors, and ceiling" clean, and you can clearly see it in HD. When Lee Ermey gets in the camera's face, he's in your face. Is it a 5 out 5 on PQ? No, but I would give it a 4 from what I've seen so far.

I had the BD in my hands on Friday at CC but they wouldnt sell it to me because it wasnt in the register yet.It was $24.99 and it did say newly remastered HD 1080P with Loseless audio aswell.

I just picked up 2001: A Space Odessey and Full Metal Jacket from Best Buy. I had no idea that there were 2 different Blu ray versions of FMJ but noticed that the Remastered version had PCM audio track. Same on 2001. So I picked those up.

Also, checked the HD DVD versions and noticed that they had their standard audio, so it will be interesting to see reviews of these movies and see how they are scored!

I don't have the first release of FMJ, but I just watched the new one. I'd say PQ is somewhere around 3.75 overall, but good considering the age of the film.

I enjoyed the commentary while watching the movie, which includes one of my favorite actors Vincent D'Onofrio.

Yes, it's a great improvement with lossless audio also. A great buy for $14 from Warner.
