Default question about DTS-MA

http://www.us.onkyo.com/model.cfm?m=...s=Receiver&p=i

Does that thing do it? Cause... im gonna buy it. Is DTS-HD the same thing as DTS-MA?
Im confused...

Im sure this is in the forums, but im too lazy to search through everything.
Todays a "Chill and watch movies while eating pringles" kinda day for me.

Important question. If you have a PS3, it really doesn't matter right now since it can't pass the DTS-MA bitstream out into the receiver. But for future-proofing, the 605 is a solid entry level receiver with HD audio codec decoding.

Won't do ya much good man, I have the PS3 60GB and the Onkyo 605, and still cannot hear DTS-MA. The PS3 probably won't ever be able to send the hd-audio information as bitstream to the receiver, so it won't decode it for you. All we can hope for is the supposedly forthcoming onboard DTS-MA decoding for the PS3, then you can send it via PCM to the receiver.

Notice how Onkyo's website says "Processing todays high resolution media-including bluray and hd-dvd- with effortless efficiency"

And they supposedly are HD DVD exclusive?

unfortunately you cannot get Dts-HD Master from a PS3 no matter what...only the "core".

but the 605 is still a good receiver to have overall.

Well that kinda sucks. Dang. hmmm. At least i know its a good receiver.
Ill figure somthing out.

EDIT: Found out that the PS3 can do PCM through HDMI.
This is fine for me...

Thanks for your help everyone.

(By the way, im relatively new to the whole "Receiver" thing. just started reading about them about a week ago and decided to blow all my christmas money on one - Which is fine.
So yup, sorry for being so... clueless. )
