Default OK guys, what do I have to do to get a firmware disc from sony?

Get a hold of a new firmware disc from sony? Do I need to call them because I tried and they said call back later due to heavy call volume. I tried burning it as an image and it didn't want to work in my player so I think I need to get a disc from sony...

sony.com will let you submit a request for a disc.

What kind of disc did you use? Usually that's the issue.

Sony website has a link for product upgrades.

Much less frustrating than sitting on hold.

I used a CD-R, which I have done before, but if it must be a DVD-r maybe I'll try that. Why, whats the scoop on disks? Thanks in advance.

I've used a CD-R twice without issues -- from 2.60 to 3.30 and from 3.30 to 3.70

If you happen to have a BDP-S1, you won't be able to use CD-Rs and you'll need a DVD+-R/RW.

I take it either this isn't a PS3, or you don't have an Ethernet/Bluetooth connection in the house?

I have S301 and I used DVD plus R and it worked both times with no problem.
Someone has posted in here somewhere that they had problem when using CDR. So try DVD plus or minus R instead. Disc are so cheap nowaday. CDR and DVD-R cost almost the same anyway.

No, it's a bdps300. I put in an internet connection to my living room for those reasons and as homer simpson would say...DOH!!! I wish it had a cat 5 connection on the back. It would make life much easier.

Sorry

My neighbor has that player and I'm sure he used a DVD-R, I'll probably see him later in the day and I'll double check.
