Default Maximum Memory stick supported by PSP

Is there a limit to what size memory stick I can get for my PSP? After seeing the demo of a PS3 BD being transferred to a PSP, I think I am going to need some more memory for all the movies I will want to transfer over. Thanks.

Check Pspfanboy.com

They currently found a great deal: $30 for a 4 GB memory stick for your PSP on amazon.com.

I hunted around and found that the biggest out there (that i know of) are 8 GB memory sticks, usually falling in the range of $80-90 depending on if you want Sony brand or Scan Disk/other brand.

Cheers!

Sony released a 16GB Memory Stick a month or so ago. It's about the same as a car note, though.

I vaguely recall reading something about the spec for MS is maxed at 32 GB, and that any soy device would be able to read it. Feel free to correct/flame/yell at/agree with me.

Pretty much that should be the case.

Any Memory Stick Pro Duo over that initial spec that existing devices are not compatible with, will most likly entail a name change [like SDHC had].

I remember reading this too but can't remember where. 32 GB supposed to be the theoretical limit for MS Pro Duo format.

I would like to see that, too, because that's not suppose to be possible. There are security parameters in place just to stop things like that from happening. The PSP does not decrypt AACS encrypted files.

OH! He must be talking about movies without BD+ that have been ripped and put on Bit torrent. In that case (given you had enough storage card space), you could transfer a HD DVD or Blu-ray movie to your PSP. Of course, it would have to be in some form of MPEG and resized to play in the PSP (PSP only has but so much power).

That is too much work to just end up with an image that looks about the same as a UMD movie.

I have heard that the max memory stick you could use in a PSP was a 4gb stick. Anything over that and you would only be able to access 4gb of the stick. I do not know if that changed with the release of the PSP Slim or not.

It would be nice if the PSP could use an 8gb stick, but so far the most it can read is 4gb anymore than that wont be recognized by the system. since it runs off FAT and not NTSF it wont read any higher. maybe one day Sony will release a firmware update that will change this, but its unlikely since changing the format from FAT would keep MAC users from using the PSP.

I just recently ordered the PSP slim and a bunch of extras. One of the extras I got was the Sony 8 gig Memory Pro Duo or whatever it's called. It's specifically marketed for the PSP as the front of the packaging says, "For use on PSP". I havn't recieved the actual PSP yet so I can't test it but once I do I shall inform you of the outcome.

Don't suppose they could have wiped off the psp just a LITTLE bit before taking the picture. Looks like someone used it as a face cloth after they just woke up. Ewww!

I hope they push this digital copy to psp stuff. Would be really nice.
