Does anyone have any thoughts on whether to go with the Onkyo txr875 or the sony strda5300es? I've only seen a review on the sony from cnet and it sounds very enticing, but i know onkyo makes a great reciever.

Onkyos are indeed excellent gear. I just bought a Sony STR-DA5300ES, and I am very happy with it. Build quality, while not as hefty as the Onkyos, is still fine, and there are no overheating or audio sync problems with it.
What sold me were the 6 HDMI-in ports, and the 5-year warranty. I'm happy. But definitely do yourself a favor and check out the Onkyo as well as the Sony (and I'd throw in the Yamaha, too). Mark |
