Default Lee Stewart is a twit:

I was reading through a link that was supplied on the Insider's Thread (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...#post12650643), and noticed that Lee Stewart made a comment that 1080i is better than 1080p.

Right.
Badboi asked him to provide links proving the comment.

Conclusions

Well, the assumed purpose of us on the web is to collect and pass on information - facts and opinions. In fact, 1080p does matter. We all need it, so in our opinion, you should be concerned. This is our attempt to convey that message.

Of course, you don't need to have a 1080p display to have a great image. In fact, we're happy to concede that in most cases, with most material, there are many variables, starting from basic calibration, the environment (your room), yada yada, that are far more important than having a real 1080p display. In fact, most of us don't own a 1080p display for reasons of price and the move of the technology curve, first generation issues, etc. But, the point remains, if we narrow down the issue to a single parameter, that of resolution, aside from possible future displays that are integer multiples of 1920 x 1080 (serving to diminish pixel structure and improve the performance of scaled image output from lower resolution formats), 1080p is king, period.

It's obvious the idiot doesn't read what it is he posts. I swear to God he must just google for key phrases, post them, and hten assume that no one reads the trash he posts.

Badboi, I know you read this forum as well, and thought you may get a kick out of it - I'd post on AVS, but I don't have an account.

Any how, enjoy.

The guy is a tool who managed to get himself banned over @ HDD inside of 24 hours after he revealed his true identity.

That's what you say when you don't have a 1080p tv....

The only thing is if you read his original post, you have to wonder if he knows what the placebo effect is...You'd assume he'd mention how great VC-1 is...instead he words it the other way.

He is a hardcore HD-DVD fanboi! He loves to intiate arguements so he can show you up, so he thinks! I would love Blu-ray to win just to see what he would say!

Sad thing about him is that he does offer some interesting facts, but he gets too wrapped up in this HD war and takes it to personal. Alot of fanboys go overboard with this war. We all need to remember we are all on the same side, HD side! We all want HDM to succeed.

What's really sad about the whole situation is that, although I enjoy being on the forums and discussing ideas and learning new things, this loser (LS) makes it his life. I suggested he get an outside hobby since he is retired, and his response was that his hobby is trolling internet sites all day (or something like that). How sad is that?

Anyhow, I don't let him take up any space inside my head. I just can't wait to see what happens to him once HD DVD is gone completely. He'll probably go into withdrawals and have to be institutionalized for a time.

The purpose of this thread is to call some guy a twit?
Its a personal attack, and the mods should remove this thread.
Things are getting too heated lately, and now they're turning personal.

If we despise these people so much why so we have to make threads that bring attention to them?

Dont like Lee Stewart? Amir? Nfinity? Kosty? rdjam? plazman?

FINE. THEN DONT ****ING TALK ABOUT THEM. Talk about stuff that is more relevant.

Ya know... like how your root canal went and stuff like that or hell even bluray. Ive heard thats the new thing....

I do plead guilty to making posts about rdjam in the past, but I will say that I am DONE with those. I ask you to do the same.

It is by no means malicious. The guy just does not read what he posts. Even in his own posts, he links to sites that dispute what he says. That is a dumb thing to do.

Personal attacks are very different, and typically baseless. If you think that twit is an offensive personal attack, I think that you may be a tad too sensitive.

And notice that neither of his links have anything to do with VC1 vs AVC, which was the topic of debate when he replied.

Agreed. +10

Please, guys...don't turn this side of the board into a place where AVS migrators call it open season on HD-DVD zealots. Just because doing it over there gets you banned doesn't give you a license to do it here.

I've said this before over at AVS, and I'll say it here again: If your obsession with HD formats has gotten to the point where it's somehow permissible to attack someone verbally, then it's time to find another hobby.

This is one thread I don't mind seeing locked or deleted altogether.

No HD DVD fanboys deserve threads here. Yeah they exist. It's painfully obvious to everyone how unwelcome they make themselves on some forums. Don't humor their egos with threads here.

Since he is a BIG spreader of FUD and disinformation, and steering people the wrong way, calling him a twit is less than he deserves. Hopefully he gets slammed big time like Rdjam/HDNOW did the other day on HDD.

Unfortunately the search engine spiders will archive this thread and when he does an "ego" seach it will pop up and he will feel proud. While your position might be right-on, the end result is hardly going to achieve it's objective.

True. Better to not even mention them. Ignore them and they will go away.

Hey,

I don't like him, I think he is a twit,.. but you won't see me talking about it.

D'OH!

Anyway,... yeah 1080i = 1080p, doesn't anyone remember the 480i DVD players. I still have one though I don't use it for DVD obviously (it plays SACDs.)

As a paid shill (which he is and has admitted too) he is forced to suggest the 1080i players are just as good as the 1080p players (though they charge more for the 1080p players for reasons unknown.)

That dude is just an idiot. I tried to explain to him that his source article was old and referring to old tech... but he just wouldnt listen or was incapable of understanding.

New TVs and BD players can output 1080p without having to interlace/deinterlace.

Its unbelievable that people actually believe what he says, after he constantly spews out garbage.
