Blu ray cleaners?

hi all, are there any good blu ray cleaning kits out there to clean your player? i have not seen anything out there yet. not that i need it now, but when i do i want to be prepared. thanks

do you use a standard dvd cleaning disk or does blu ray have a special cleaning disk out?

I havent seen anything like that in the a/v stores I've been to, I would NOT put a dvd one in unless I hear from someone it's ok

i hear ya, thats why i am asking here. thought someone would know. i will check at the stores and see what they say. i was just wondering so someday when i do need to do it i know about it or have the item i need to do it. thanks

You would imagine the dvd cleaner would be fine but i agree find out first. I am sure there will be a dedicated one released soon enough.

One of the responses from Samsung in regards to my player not playing some discs was to clean the lens on my player.

I'm at my wits end with this thing anyway so I tried a Memorex brand cd/dvd cleaner. The one with six tiny brushes on it.

The player wouldn't read the audio tracks on the disc and I can't be sure it even worked - but it spun and I heard the head move looking for a track so I'd assume it wiped the lens clean.

Didn't change anything though so it's probably okay to use since it will still read the same Blu-Rays it read before.

i have the same tv and set up prety much i use the monster cable screen cleaner and cloth package to clean the outside of the unit, i spray the cloth not the unit and wipe it down to a mirror shine, and then gently air can the machine to keep dust and debris away, once a week. and then i clean my SXRD lol the same way.

i'd love to see pictures of your sxrd setup and what settings you have the inputs on for bluray and compare to mine if possible as to better tune our tv's for the best picture.

Those cleaning discs are crap.

Its not to hard to open most players and get to the lens, if your not too mechanically inclined I wouldnt try it. Alot of repair shops will charge ~$60 for a cleaning if you want to go that route.

Just get to the lens and use Q-tip and alcohol ... visual inspection will clue you in, if the lens is hazy then gets crystal clear after wiping it, then you will fix your problem
