Netflix and REDBOX hopefully one day will start renting both 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray discs and Blu-ray 3-D discs

For any video format to be successful, it needs to offer a rental option. The average consumer purchases their favorite movies on an optical disc format like 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D, and standard 1080P Blu-ray. However, for many movies the average consumer only wants to watch the movie once. Mr. Movies nationwide and other rental stores do rent both 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray discs and Blu-ray 3D discs, along with standard 1080P Blu-ray discs. In addition, the online 3D Blu-ray rental store also offers 4K Ultra HD Blu-rays, Blu-ray 3D, and standard 1080P Blu-ray discs rentals (4K Ultra HD Blu-ray rental prices and Blu-ray 3D prices vary from $3.99-$7.99). This allows consumers to rent their 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray disc instead of renting a 4K Ultra HD streaming version of the movie from VUDU or Netflix.

Now Netflix currently offers an unlimited standard 1080P Blu-ray rental program by mail that has been successful for several years. I hope that in the future they will create a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray format category and a Blu-ray 3D category. Netflix could increase the monthly unlimited optical disc rental program fee if they offered these two new formats.

REDBOX automated machines are located in over 42,000 locations around the United States. For several years consumers have been able to rent standard Blu-ray discs for only $2. I hope that in the future REDBOX will consider offering 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray discs and Blu-ray 3D discs rentals (Maybe $4 price for a rental would need to be collected). Also it would be nice if REDBOX would offer a unlimited Blu-ray rental program like Netflix but instead the REDBOX unlimited program would be at all their automated machine locations. REDBOX could charge around $30+ a month for their unlimited monthly rental program.

4K Ultra HD Blu-ray fans and Blu-ray 3D fans should contact both Netflix and REDBOX to request they add those two formats

I went to both the Netflix and REDBOX websites and they do not have any email address listed. Instead, one needs to call them or do a live chat. I did a quick live chat with both companies and requested they offer both the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray discs and Blu-ray 3D discs for rental. In addition, I mentioned to REDBOX that they should consider offering an unlimited Blu-ray rental program like Netflix.
