Studios should start a trend like Fox did with Day that Earth Stood Still and include the original movie when they release the remake as part of the package.

The remake of this isn't even filmed is it? When it does... then "yes" I would support this being included in Tarrantino's version.... however that one turns out......

I jumped on The Day The Earth Stood Still when it came out.... and have no interest in picking up the remake.... but with this one.... depending where the remake is in the process.... I may wait to pick this one up cheaper down the road

Quentin Tarantino purposely mis-spelled the title, Inglorious Bastards. He spelled it, Inglourious Basterds.

It was in a black (no print or nothing) vcr box, that's why it was hard to find. So after that he always knew that IF the movie would be made, he would pay hommage to his 4 day search expedition to watch the movie.

Same general idea I guess (I haven't seen the new one obviously, nor have I read the script leaks), but it is not a straight remake. The script is an original one with different characters and ideas and events - just shares some basic ideas and settings with the 1978 film.

The tarrantino version will not be under the same distribution company so the chances of a release for both films on one set is unlikely... However Tarrantino's is basically complete if not completed... the trailer has been out for awhile... it is set to be shown at Cannes in May.

The remake is already done and is hitting theaters in about 90 days.

Frickin' yes!!!!!!!!! Although it's not surprising they would release it close to Inglourious Basterds, I'm still surprised since it wasn't released on DVD until just last year. Definitely picking this baby up! Anybody know where this info came from?

I just got an e-mail from Amazon to expect both Inglorious Bastards and Eagles Over London between May 11 and May 29, but they were listed as being released on July 28. Has anyone heard of them being moved up? Amazon now has them both listed as having come out in 2005, which is obviously not right.

Inglorious Bastards isn't due to hit THEATRES until August! Amazon is obviously talking about some other release from the past with the same title... or, they are having their company crack party again!

Yes I know it's the 1978 version, I'm not stupid. That's the one that's coming out on Blu-ray July 28. That's what I received the e-mail about though. Somehow I'm receiving it 2 months early, or so Amazon says. Then when I e-mailed to make sure that was right, they replied with "we understand your concern about the delay in your shipment". It sure as heck isn't a delay.

P.S. The new one isn't Inglorious Bastards, it's Inglourious Basterds.

That's the one that's coming out on Blu-ray July 28. That's what I received the e-mail about though. Somehow I'm receiving it 2 months early, or so Amazon says. Then when I e-mailed to make sure that was right, they replied with "we understand your concern about the delay in your shipment". It sure as heck isn't a delay. P.S.
