What led YOU to actually collect Blu-ray movies?

Have you always been the collector type? ( whether movies or some,thing else)?

Did you for years collect DVDs first, or even VHS/ LaserDisc?

Was it for a certiwn period of your life for some reason?

I got thinking about this the other day. My collection isn't huge, about 175, but I love them and I started in 2009. I started very small, just some of my favorite movies at the time.

Then about 4 years ago, I found myself watching more and more of Turner Classic Movies ( the channel), and this led me to look up Blu releases on this website.

Then, 2 years ago, I quit collectioning comic books. The price of about $4 per new issue just got to be too little bang for the buck. Plus, I didn't enjoy most of the stories Marvel and especially DC were putting out.

So, I guess it's one of my traits: tend to be a collector. I collected comic books from since being s kid up to about 25 years overall ( hardcore...weekly comic shop runs, going to conventions, etc.)

After giving up the comics, I guess my " collector's trait" needed an outlet, and I found myself collectioning more and more Blu's. Which is awesome because I feel I get s lot for my money.

It would be interesting to hear stories of what led others to start collection Blu's!
