Default Panasonic BD30, copywright violation

I have generally had great success and reliability with the panny BD 30, but lately, I have gotten the message "Copyright Violation" when I put in discs. These are discs that play some of the time, but show the message CV at other times.

The two discs doing this so far are Super Bad and Surf's UP. Now, I got a different disc of Superbad and it played fine. It was the first on to show the CV message. My Surf's Up disc played fine the first few times I played it. Then, after the experience with the Superbad disc, it has started to show the CV message too. Other discs play fine.

In fact, now that I remember, the Superbad disc played fine the first few times I put it in too.

Could this be a player malfunction?

I have upgraded the firmware to 1.3 already before this latest thing.

Same exact thing happened to me the very first time I put in a disk (Planet Earth) but since it has not happened again, even on that disk. No idea why it did happen.

Call Panasonic, most likely something that need to be looked at. Is probably ACCS stuff.

Well, it did happen with the older firmware. Since putting in the new firmware everything seems to be smooth. I feel that if I bring the player back or complain about this issue, nothing will ever be resolved because it's something that happened once and may or may not ever happen again. Whenever I have had similar intermittent issues with anything that I have ever owned in the past I have found it impossible to get anyone to address it.

Is it possible that this is an issue that could have been rectified by the firmware upgrade?
