...the "best of" Bluray collection looks disappointing.

Not sure what to think about Oz in 3D.

Loved Wizard of Oz as a kid and still do. 10/10.

And I will get this, and watch it, and love the visuals if converted right. But for some reason, I'm not jumping for joy. I never am at this news. I like my 2D movies 2D, the same as I like my B&W movies B&W and my silent movies silent.

But, if I was in control of this conversion, I think it would work to keep the Kansas scenes in 2D, or subtle 3D, and Oz in really strong, Hugo-style 3D. Kinda the Tron effect. Any thoughts/opinions on this idea?

I actually love the idea, though I would not have it totally flat, just back it way off, then really pull it out when needed (in OZ).

You know what I would like almost as much , maybe they could do it in conjunction assuming they own it, but how about a conversion of "The Wiz"..Im actually not sure which one Im remembering now...

I love this idea. If they do this (and do the whole conversion well), I'll be happy to see it.

Perhaps it will be easier to see behind the curtain using the 3D cardboard cut out look...

Now we just have to wait and see whether they were giving it a quality conversion for theatrical release to pay for, like Titanic and Lion King got, or whether Warner thought, "What, the in-house made-for-disk conversion on Harry Potter 7.1 wasn't THAT bad!"
I might go to a Cinemark if they wanted to raise a few nickels.

(The "Begone, before somebody drops a disk drive on you!" bonus set is amusing, but not for $75. I can so see it breaking in half after two uses.
I ended up winning the Singin' in the Rain umbrella box in a contest, but I'm keeping the box-stuff wrapped up in the hopes I can sell it back to Amazon when Warner puts the bonus disk back out.)

That said, should I be concerned that this's the first new news since October?

Just watch it in a darkened room. The bars are less noticeable (to me) that way.

I won't call you crazy, it just affects my eyes cause they are so trained to watch full screen. Oh well what are ya gonna do ! This was always a fun movie but thankfully it wasn't my favorite !

Retrain them. That's why the dark center portion of the eye is called the pupil.

Another reason to own this - pq is better than the 2D blu-ray. Color and detail are superior on the 3D disc. Compare them and you'll see.
A must-have at that price!
