Wow, 10 movies to pick for the whole decade, and I am Legend made the cut? That's certainly...a choice.

It's a Warner set so choices are slim and I guess they didn't want to include The Dark Knight (2008).

Even though they're including Batman 89 in the 80's collection...

I guess they thought people like it now because you can watch the movie with the superior alternate ending? That's my best guess.

It's a lot more timely right now that it was 13 years ago.

I wonder what movies Millennials would pick? I'm shocked Shrek or Juno aren't there.

This is only volume one. I’m sure there are more to follow.

Who are these sets even being made for though? Sure they're a nice collection of good films (debatable on being 'best' though) for a pretty decent MSRP. But it seems you need to have a very minimal movie collection and a very open level of interest to actually need any of these sets.
At the very least I can see these appealing to young newcomers who are gaining a interest in film but haven't seen all of the 'essentials' yet.

Yeah, the only one I'd probably recommend is 80's Vol. 2 for families that don't have much in their collection, because it has a lot of great 80's family classics.

Most of these movies could be had for five bucks on Amazon or eBay. If these sets came with digital copies for all movies, they might have merit, but otherwise...

Yeah, these sorts of things would've been great for me when I was starting out. Save shelf space, get a couple of movies I'll definitely like, and open myself up to a lot of movies I haven't seen or heard of.
