I love the Matrix movies, some of my favorite movies ever. However, the special effects in reloaded and revolutions make it really hard to watch some times. Neo looks like he is made out of play-doh whenever they go from live action to cgi, when smith's get knock over it sounds like bowling pins falling down (the human body doesn't make that sound), the final fight at the end of revolutions is awful, its so fake, especially in the sky, and i would imagine it would look even more fake on blu-ray. by far though the worst special effect probably in the entire saga and one of them in movie history since 2000 is when Neo punches smith in slow motion and "through" the raindrops.
any chance that warner bros. will cleans this awful special effects up. i mean not for the blu-ray release coming up, but just some day in the future. |

lucas would only make it worse. he'd put colorful shreiking fake CGI Boga's running around the city for neo to ride on while smith chases him in a monocycle.

No, they will never go back to fix it up. It already sold a lot on DVD and in the theaters. People getting HD DVD and Blu-ray will just have to live with it.
Besides, they would be more likely to make it worse by changes things that don't need to be changed... and not fixing things that do. |

Couldn't the "fake" look of characters like Neo and Mr. Smith and the setting during the fights be considered appropriate since they are after all in the matrix during those scenes - a virtual world where they don't truly exist physically.
Or am I justifying? ![]() |

One of the reasons I love movies is that they are a 2+ hr reality break.
Reading a fiction book is going to be as good as your imagination is, how you make the characters look and sound in your head. With that said, The Matrix was movie. Part acting part CGI. I hope they don't change a thing. It will be awesome on Blu-ray and I can't wait. Just my 2 cents. I love Star Wars and I was not crazy about Lucas (adding to it). But it was his work and he can do what he wishes to it. We all still watched it. ![]() ![]() |
